Course description
Employers are legally required to ensure their first aiders are competent and maintain their skills throughout the three years in which their certificates are valid.
The Health and Safety Executive strongly recommends that first aiders attend a refresher session once every year during this three-year period.
This course does not renew First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work courses.
Course Content
Choking - 30 minutes to complete.
After this module, you will be able to help an individual who is choking.
Chest Pains - 30 minutes to complete.
After this module you will be able to help an individual who is experiencing chest pains.
Severe Bleeds - 45 minutes to complete.
After this module you will be able to help an individual who is bleeding severely.
Recovery Position - 45 minutes to complete.
After this module you will be able to help an individual who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
Basic Life Support & AED - 30 minutes to complete.
After this module you will be able to help an individual who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.
Who should attend?
This course is for people holding a current First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.
This course does not renew First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work courses. Those needing to renew can find which course they need using our requalification tool.
Duration
The course takes about 3 hours to complete, but this self-guided learning style means that learners can complete the module at their own pace.
Certification
A certificate of completion can be downloaded at the end of the course.
