IOSH Working Safely® is an essential short course for employees of organisations in any industry sector who need a grounding in health and safety.
The IOSH Working Safely course is a perfect first step into the world of health and safety. The awareness level course introduces you to a foundational understanding of core health and safety topics in the workplace.
It is an international safety certificate based on best practice and provides an awareness of general workplace hazards and focuses on why health and safety is important to the well-being of individual workers and those around them.
The IOSH Working Safely course is recognised as an equivalent to a level 1 award in health and safety in a construction environment and is widely accessible.
Course Syllabus
This course is split into four modules:
- Introducing working safely
- Defining hazards and risk
- Identifying common hazards
- Improving safety performance

Who should attend
Aimed at delegates who regularly work from home or remotely as part of their job. This online course provides delegates with tools to ensure high levels of productivity when they are away from the workplace.
Assessments
There is a two-part assessment, consisting of a short 20-minute multiple-choice section, and a 10-minute hazard spotting exercise. On successful completion of the assessment, you will be awarded an IOSH certificate.
Duration
The course takes about 4-8 hours to complete, but this self-guided learning style means that learners can complete the course at their own pace. 6 months access is provided.
Certification
Certificates will be made available from our delivery partner, Astutis, after all course activities have been completed.
