Tuesday 29 November, 2022: St John Ambulance has won the Online Learning Superstar award at the Charity Learning Awards 2022 for its vaccination training.

Our Internal Training and Innovation Team were delighted to receive the award for their outstanding work, enabling volunteers to be trained to carry out lifesaving vaccinations during such challenging times.

The Charity Learning Awards honour the outstanding work of learning and development practitioners in the third sector.

Jo Kan, Head of Learning and Development at St John Ambulance, said: “I am delighted to have accepted the award on behalf of so many people at St John who have worked hard to make this happen.

“It’s because of their dedication and passion to help people that has enabled the platform to be such a huge success. I speak on behalf of the whole organisation when I send my thanks to everyone who was involved.”

Online Learning Superstar: St John Ambulance 

• Around 30,000 vaccination volunteers were recruited and trained by St John, through a blend of online and in-person learning
• The number includes 20,000 St John Ambulance volunteer vaccinators
• Since January 2021, the charity’s vaccination volunteers have given more than a million hours of their time
• Their work is part of more than 1.6 million hours contributed to frontline health services by St John Ambulance people since spring 2020.
