About face-to-face fundraising
As a charity, face-to-face fundraising is very important to us, because regular donations mean we can plan for the future more effectively.
We use professional fundraising agencies, like many other charities, to help us raise the most funds we can. For over 25 years, we have been fundraising door-to-door with Wesser Ltd, a well-established family run business that has raised over £62 million from our loyal door-to-door supporters across the country. Wesser Ltd are subject to regular audits to ensure the highest level of service is provided.
In 2022, we partnered with Trinity Group to further increase our fundraising efforts. Trinity Group are Ireland’s largest face-to-face fundraising supplier. They have offices dotted across the country and have recently expanded into the UK. With Trinity, they bring a wealth of experience from markets like Australia, the US, Ireland and the UK. Their Mission Statement is simple and represents the focus they have for their clients and their workforce: Changing People’s Perception’s by Changing People’s Lives. Their representatives can also be seen on their website here.
We also paired with Green Light Sites in 2023, assisting us with event and site bookings, and carrying out audits and mystery shops to our fundraising teams nationwide. This has successfully allowed us to have more oversight for quality control, and to identify any issues we would not normally pick up that may require further training. They have also developed high-quality customised training and compliance videos for our fundraisers, which have been a great success. See their website here for more information.
All door-to-door fundraisers wear a St John Ambulance branded t-shirt, body warmer, or coat, and carry a professional ID badge with all legally-required details. They go from door-to-door, talking to people about our work and asking them to consider supporting us by giving a regular donation by direct debit.
We have recruited over 350,000+ supporters for St John Ambulance through speaking to people door-to-door. We continue to increase awareness of first aid and support for our work through our door-to-door activity, which in turn means we can save more lives across the UK.
