Course description

Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of allergic reaction. Common causes are insect stings, foods and some medication. It is life threatening and requires immediate first aid (an auto-injector) and emergency medical assistance.

Someone in your school could have a severe allergy; as such, this must form part of your first aid needs assessment.

Who should attend?

This course is for people who provide childcare. Workplace first aiders who have to deal with those prone to anaphylaxis should also attend.

Delegates must be aged 18 or older to attend this course.

Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
