Introduction
Every year on the second Saturday of September, International Federations, Societies and Charities come together to mark World First Aid Day. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of how first aid saves lives every day, especially in situations of crisis. A first aid emergency can arise anywhere, at any time, and it’s vital that everyone has the confidence and basic knowledge to assist a casualty.
This year's theme is First Aid in the Digital World
Ever advancing technology is a huge opportunity for first aid, allowing us to educate faster and potentially further than ever before. From the basics to intensive learning to refresher courses around live-saving techniques; digital technology allows anybody, with or without internet access, to learn first aid.
The digital world allows you to brush up on your skills, share knowledge and learn with others all from the comfort of your own space, in your own time, at your own pace. It’s perhaps easier now than ever before to become a lifesaver!
“On average, internet users worldwide spent 397 minutes every day online in 2022.*”
Spending only a fraction of this time learning or improving your first aid skills could be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
